'User Network' and Source

Hello,

Can anyone explain how the 'User Network' and 'User Group Network' Network Definitions generated automatically by Astaro are used.

These are described as (in example) 'Known IP addresses of user ***' or 'Known IP addresses of users in group ***' respectively.  However, each of these has the IP address listed as [unresolved].

I am hopeful that these can be used to configure the packet filter rules and specified as the Source to allow rules to be specified by User rather than IP address.  I suggest that the user comes from the HTTP authentication.

    These will be filled in automatically IF you are using User Authentication for web access.

    Hi Barry,

    This is what I had hoped.  However, it does not appear to be the case.  When looking at any of these 'User Networks' after logging on to HTTP (using User Authentication for the Internet) these are still listed as [unresolved].  Do I need to set something else up?

    This would absolutely perfect for my needs, but I think these objects are only filled with the actual IP-address, if the user is connected and authorised via VPN...

    Is there really no one here to clarify this topic?
