Incoming connection speeds

I've noticed the speed of the dsl link on an external interface reported by the dashboard on ASG120 v7.07 varies wildly. from 50kb/s down to 800b/s incoming. 

Yes it could down to the ISP or adsl modem settings but the variation and slowness didn't occcur until after switching to the Astaro.

Can anybody shed some light on this?

    That's not the actual link speed but the current data rate on the link. From the manual:

    "Interfaces: Name and status of configured network interface cards. In addition, information on the average bitrate of the last 75 seconds for both incoming and outgoing traffic is shown. The values presented are obtained from bitrate averages based on samples that were taken at intervals of 15 seconds."
