How good is Astaro's Intrusion Protection?

I'm currently using Clarkconnect Home 4.1, it integrates snort+snortsam to block attacks, and seems to do a pretty good job of picking up and blocking several attacks a day on my home network.

I'm thinking of switching to Astaro 7.0, I like the product but would need a beefier machine to run it most likely... is the IP in A7 as good, will it actively block attackers in a similar way?

The IPS in V7 (and previous versions, for that matter) is Snort... should be comparable to what you've experienced with other Snort installations.

AFAIK yes it will. You might have to upgrade your machine a bit depending on your network and the hardware of your machine though.
