After years of happily running Astaro (I go back to v3), I am changing ISPs, and this ISP will not let me manually configure routes in their router.
I have a reasonable-size public address space (64 addresses) well subnetted. Some of this address space lives safely behind my Astaro box (I have multiple interfaces, like 9 total).
So I need Astaro to inform their router (Speedstream 5861) what addresses to forward to the Astaro gateway. RIP would be very nice and enough for the job.
I would hate to have to build a Linux box that was doing RIP and saying that the Astaro box had certain address ranges (Quite doable and an absolute pain!). Plus this Linux box would have to be put outside the firewall and thus itself be harden.
