imap from outside does not work

First
the following things are working:
1)
access to the admin interface
2)
DNS after shell login works
the mailserver is resolved by 127.0.0.1 allthough I tried to use my internal DNS-Server
3)
vpn access working from outside 


My problem:
I ve defined a rule for imap  but I can t access the server from outside.
Using the mailclient after opening an vpn-tunnel and using the internal ip-adresses is working.

I think that I ve DNS problems but I ve no idea where to look for the reasons.
I tried to use my internal DNS Server and I tried it with static DNS entries but nothing works.
Any hints for someone who is using astaro for the first time?

    Could you be more precise on:

    1) Which Packet filter rule did you set up?
    2) Which SNAT rule did you set up?

    it is working now
    after searching and reading I found out that portforwarding (like in IPCOP) is named proxy in astaro
