In 7.002 I have noticed that the Portscan feature is very resource hungrey and as in my post elsewhere it looks as though it is detecting portscans from the internal network as well as the external network. If this is in fact the case I can understand why IPS is proving to be a headache.
Astaro please can you give us more control over this feature, such as an exclusion box, so we can stop certain clients / users/ networks from being detected wrongly.
What do others think. I tested this feature, when turned on, my Celeron D 3.3 Ghz was at 4% when idle, when this feature was turned off it has not gone above 0%
Why is this feature so hungry?
