why syntactically invalid for QoS?

Ok, the docs are of no help.  It seems no matter what value I put in for my internal interface (of the QoS status tab), nothing works.  Everything is syntactically invalid.  I tried 8192 down and 640 up, and lowered the numbers from there... what gives?

    Well, I logged a ticket for this.  I suppose I didn't realize that there is no support for home users.  I really wish they had a small fee home user license which would include maybe 20 IPs... I would pay $50 for that!!  Even if it was just for 3 years.

    So the update is that there is NO reason I should be getting that error.  I tested this on my dad's PC ASL router and he doesnt get it.  So..... I am going to attempt a reinstall after I come back from out of town.  I have other strange and unexplainable problems on my ASL box.  I dont know why I am bothering to update... since no one expressed one line of interest or thought.

    What version of ASL are you using?

    What kind of connection do you have? (DHCP, PPPoE, ...)

    IIRC, I don't think you can do QoS if you have PPPoE.

    Yep, tough to give feedback when there isn't enough detail in your original post to even have a clue as to what may be happening.

    Most of the time you don't get feedback from a post it's because you either didn't post enough information or no one has a clue.

    This is a bug.  Maybe Andreas can give us feedback on this?

    Hi folks,
     you can have QoS with a PPPoE interface/connection.
     
    I went through similar problems with earlier versions of V7. Works okay in v7.001, but I believe there is a bug in the enable feature in v7.002. Another post was reporting this issue.
    If you enabled it in V7.001 you are able to change it in v7.002, but if you try to enable it in v7.002 it doesn't work.

    Yes, I am using v 7.002.  After getting nowhere with the problem, I decided to rebuild and restore configs.  Same problem.  I did a factory reset with no restore and was able to get some values put in.  One of them is tempermental.  I am using Cable modem on the red network and the other 2 are different switches and segments.  I am at a point now where I have to leave QoS off.  When enabled, I am only getting about 500k downstream bandwidth on wireless devices.  Turned off, I get 5Mbit.  This is not a result of me putting in bad values... i know how those work.  QoS just seems to be a huge problem in this version.
