It is possible to run DNAT and Masquerading on the same interface? I'm trying to configure a DNS Server on a network (The Internal network) that has Masquerading defined (uses the External IF IP Address).
The problem is that DNAT is required to reach the DNS Server from the outside (cos it's on a network with unroutable addresses) but then when packets leave the network again in replies - what IP address do they get??? The DNAT reverse IP address or the Masqueraded address? These are 2 different IP addresses by the way! So that complicates things aswell - If the "REAL" IP address of the DNS Server was the same as the External IP address of Astaro, I guess I would be getting further - but I haven't been able to get this to work yet.
Please let me know if anyone has any ideas? Also has anyone tried to setup a DNS server on a Masqueraded Network at all?
