astaro router

Hello...

i have some questions about my astaro gateway.

I have a DSL internet line.
A 5 Port switch
5 hosts

I would like to use the astaro as an router. but i dont understand how i can forward the ports for internet etc...

Can someone give me a tutorial how i can set up a router on astaro.

i already configured the hosts in "Definitions -> Networks".
i configured my internal network.
i also configured my second nic (dsl-modem on eth1) (DSL (PPP over Ethernet (PPPoE-DSL) connection) on eth1)

now... how can i share the internat access in my network?

Astaro has a connection to the internet.

Please help me.

    hi, 

    here's how i do it.  which may or may not be correct. but it seems to work.

    under network, interfaces. check that u have an internal (lan) connection, and a wan connection.  it should show the dynamic IP DHCP'd to you by your ISP.

    your lan interface should have an ip addie that is local to your lan.  

    check that they are both up and running.

    then.

    throw on the http proxy, and the dns proxy.  i usually call the isp in question, and get dns servers, and put them in manually.  but that's just me.  you should be able to stick to most of the default settings in the http proxy.  the allowed network on both the proxies will be the internal network.

    now.

    for your last trick, you masquerade the internal network on the external interface.

    and voilla.

    you now set up your (probably windoze) workstations in tools, internet options, connections, lan settings, to use the internal (lan) IP of the firewall, and the port suggested (usually i make that 8080, or u can use the default squid one if you want, whadevah) for all traffic.

    stick in your firewall's IP under the exclusion list of any one of your workstations, so you can easily potter back into the firewall for maintenance if you want without disabling the firewall every time.

    let me know if this doesn't work, then i left out something.
