VLAN interfaces

Hi all

I am looking to implement an v6 ASL box with ~20 internal VLAN interfaces on gigabit hardware in a true mission-critical (99.98% uptime) environment.

So far I have proved the config works in a test environment.

Can anyone comment on the reliability or robustness of the VLAN system in the Astaro's? I have been using ASL for years and am confident in the system itself, but have not used the VLAN stuff before.

Any comments, positive or negative, would be very much appreciated.

I haven't used VLANs before on ASL so I can't answer that question, but to reach 99.98% uptime, are you also going to use the HA option?

Hi Drees, no I wasn't considering HA as I have been using ASL in the same environment as a perimeter firewall as it's the most stable box I have!

Thanks for the info. Was curious because updates do take a chunk out of uptime, especially when the update causes you to reboot.
