Using ASL 6, just setup POP3 proxy according to this http://portal.knowledgebase.net/display/2/kb/article.asp?aid=111697
I have MS Exchange 2003 running behind firewall. I also have SMTP proxy set up in routing mode. Internal SMTP is going through Exchange and Exchange is sending to ASL via SMARTHOST. Sending email through SMTP proxy is working just fine.
I am using Mozilla Thunderbird to check email for a separate pop3 email account, and it is actually working through the proxy, I know this because I get messages in that inbox from ASL telling me it blocked a message for whatever reason.
My problem is, I do not think email destined for the mailboxes on the exchange server are getting scanned by the proxy, first I tested by setting up an expression and sent an email from my gmail account to my exchange account and the email went through anyway. Then I tested shutting off the POP3 PF rules that the above article had me create all together, and sent another test email, and it came through! I was and am still puzzled to how that even was possible.
Any ideas?
