Mac -Outlook Web Access

All computers on our network are PCs except for the CEO who runs a Mac - he is unable to access OWA (outlook web access) while on our network. Running an HTTP proxy. PCs on the network can access OWA without any problem. Have tried proxy in standard and transparent modes with no change. Have defined routes, policies, etc with no luck. Have tried all the settings I can think of.

Any ideas?

    What version of Mac OS is the CEO running, and what browser is s/he using?
    What version of Exchange Server are you running?
    Is the Exchange Server on your internal network?

    His machine is not set-up to use the proxy - setting the proxy causes the machine not to work when not on the internal network (it is a laptop). OWA works through the proxy

    Can connect by using the local IP 192.168.254.2 - can't connect using the url mail.site.com

    Thank you for your reply.
    If the user can connect with the Mail Server's IP Address but not with it's FQDN, then it sounds like a DNS issue. That is to say, that specific user is not querying your internal DNS server. You may want to ensure their primary DNS is your internal DNS server. Then you may use "Network Utility" to perform Forward and Reverse Lookups on the Mail Server.

    Regarding the Proxy - if you enable the Proxy as "Transparent Mode", no configuration is required at the workstation level. You do, however, need to create Packet Filter Rules to allow for HTTPS and FTP access.

    Alternatively, using "Standard Mode", you could create multiple "Network Locations" in the user's OS X Network Preferences. For example, an 'Office Location' may have proxies configured as well as the search domain information and a 'Travelling Location' may have no proxies configured and no search domain configured.
