Oracle dynamic ports

Hi,
I want to achieve the following: We have to use several applications that communicate over our ASG320 with external Oracle servers. The problem is that Oracle often uses port 1521/tcp for establishing a session but then uses a randomly chosen high port for database communication. Since there is no Oracle-Proxy and no connection-tracker in ASG for Oracle and it's not possible for the Oracle-Administrators to set the communication-port to a fixed one, I have the problem, that I have to define a service with all ports >1024/tcp open. Does anyone have a better idea?

    Why not possible to use a fixed port - or better, a range.
    Use Oracle Connection Manager (CMAN) to define a port range will be used after the 1521-initialization.

    Unfortunately these are not our Oracle-Servers and the externals who are running them don't care...
    I know the possiblities of getting an Oracle-Server running on fixed ports, but in this case it doesn't help very much :-(
    So the best I can do is to configure the Astaro as secure as possible.

    agreed,
    in such cases i use "direct-point-to-point" connections, means that ports are open - but just for the adresses really in use...
    think this matches "as secure as possible"
