Routing to second IP on DMZ

I installed VMWare server on DMZ box. DMZ box has ip 172.16.1.2
WMWare has ip 172.16.1.3 I cannot connect from internal net to 172.16.1.3 even though rules allow all traffic from internal net to DMZ. Does anyone know what is wrong.  BTW I can ssh from FW DMZ address to both .2 and .3.
