Changing gateway NIC doesn't work

Because ASL won't let you rename the interface you're connected to webmin with, I did the following (ASL 6.104):

1. enabled second NIC, set as DHCP

2. removed gateway from first NIC

3. set second nic to get gateway from DHCP

2nd NIC got the gateway, but the routing was never configured (checked in webmin and with route command on console)

Rebooting has NOT solved the problem!!

The static routing page in webmin seems right, but
route -n
on the console shows no default route.

Also, setting the gateway to STATIC has not worked either.

Turned out I was inadvertently triggering the spoofing detection.

Regardless, I don't understand why the route command doesn't display the default route in v6. (it does in v6 and in every other OS I've worked with.)
