AP Isolation

Hello,

I am connecting to my Astaro box through a Linksys wireless device. I have updated the firmware to a custom firmware from Ewrt. This firmware has a feature called AP isolation. It creates a virtual network for each connecting device, and does not allow communication between devices. In other words, no peer-to-peer connection. Gateway only. Is there a way to accomplish this same thing within Astaro. I want, for example, for 192.168.1.200 to access 192.168.1.1 only. Any rule that I write in Astaro assumes I go to the .1 first, and then applies the rule. But what if I’m trying to go to 192.168.1.205. There is nothing stopping me. Thanks.

    I think you should be able to do this with bridging (transparent) mode.
    You'd need a NIC for each computer you want to isolate, but you could get rid of your hub or switch.

    Now that I think about it, you don't need bridging, just create a separate subnet for each computer. (either with multiple NICS in the firewall, or with VLANs (see below)).

    ASL with a a VLAN switch and VLAN capable NICs should be able to do this also.
