I have recently installed ASG on a spare PC for home use which is working OK so far. I have configured NAT/MASQ and a packet filter rule for a group called internet_access containing http, https, pop3, smtp services. This all works OK.
I now want to add services such as Cisco VPN and MSN. I have tried to setup new services but havent had any success despite searching the forums and google for the correct ports to use. When I activate the any /any packet filter both MSN and VPN work fine.
My question is: should I just use the any / any rule for all internet access or should I be specifically configuring services that I want to use. If the latter is true, is there a way to identify the ports that these applications use when the any / any rule is on.
