beginner questions...

Hi,
i try to establish my first firewall. Until now i have used the MS FW in the XP SP2. But a friend tell me about this astaro fw.
My problem is that i don´t have enough knowledge to configure the firewall correctly and safe.
i like to use a DMZ - i use DSL and a DSL WLAN Router with a own FW. Wich is the best way to get a safe FW System with proxy and DMZ ? Where i can download a HowTo with FW Basics ?

Since there is no Wizard" available, you should carefully read the (very interesting and good written) Manual and also check the Astaro Knowledgebase
Go to \Astaro Security Gateway Software \Installation there you'll find all documents you need to start

Danke für die Info. Allerdings ist das so eine Sache, sofern sie in Englisch ist, wird es ein wenig kniffelig. Mein englisch ist nicht so besonders. Ist das Script in Deutsch oder ist es in Deutsch erhätlich ? Ich habe halt auch ein wenig Probleme bezogen auf die Zusammenhänge, denn sicher ist da beschrieben, WIE man etwas einrichtet, aber ich würde gerne wissen WARUM (wegen den Zusammenhängen in der Firewall und für die Konfiguration) . Oder ist das dort auch hinterlegt ?

When reading your posting, i can see you haven't been there.
IF you would take a look at the knowledgebase you WOULD find the Manual also in German [;)]

If you still don't find the answers you need, i would recommend you to read a book like this or check Amazon for "Firewall"
