MS Small Business Server

We've got MS Small Business Server installed and would like to place it behind an Astaro Gateway appliance. Does anyone have any experience with this setup?

This server is the single domain controller, provides Exchange services for staff (including Outlook Web Access), and provides easy Remote Desktop Access for staff when they're on the road from any internet connection and I'd like to keep these functions. 

If anyone has any experience setting up SBS behind Astaro, I'd really appreciate learning from your experience.

    Running SBS behind Astaro is no different from running any other server in behind an Astaro firewall. Remote access is best done via the VPN hosting capabilities built into Astaro. Once a roadwarrior VPN connection is created, you can access SBS, or any other server on your internal LAN, through the VPN tunnel.

    The only things that makes Microsoft's SB server different from the regular Windows server, is that the Active Directory software that comes with it has been stunned down to prevent the purchasers of the software from using it as one of many servers in a multi server environment.

    You get a lot of extra software bundled with it, but you are forced to run all of it on a single machine. That is OK, as long as you are comfortable with the all-the-eggs-in-one-basket approach to running back end server software. The SBS software bundle is a good deal for small offices that are never going to grow large enough to require a second or third server.
