how configure routed network with pppoe?

hi all,

i'm use the isp titan-dsl.de and the dsl comes from german telekom (adsl, dial up).

i dial in with pppoe an get every dial in the ip 217.140 .81.218, and the internetprovider route the network 217.140.85.224/27 on this public ip.

the dialup is no problem, but how i configure the astaro and the network for this configuration?

e.g. i want the ip 217.140.85.225 for the lan interface of the astaro, 217.140.85.226 for the first server, 217.140.85.227 for the seceonder server and so on, but how i configurae this on the astaro?

    I am a novice at this, but there are a couple of questions.
    1/. what version of Astaro are you running?
    2/. How many users do you have on your protected LAN?

    If you are running V6 you could have a look at using bridging instead of routing.

    i use astaro v6 and on the protected lan is one real server (with five virtual server) an 2 clients.

    is it possible to dial in with pppoe, get the ip (217.140.81.218), and on the protected lan comes one of the ip from my routed range (e.g. 217.140.85.225), the other devices becomes the other adresses and the astaro controll the traffic to this devices (e.g. webservice at 217.140.85.226 and an webservice to the other server 217.140.85.227)?

    Do I understand you right. Your public IP is 217.140.81.218. This would be your main IP for the external interface of ASL. You also have the following IP addresses 217.140.85.225/227 behind your ASL and you want that these addresses are reachable from the outside. In this case you probably  need multiple IP addresses on your  external NIC and the rigth NAT  and packetfilter rules. ASL is capable of multiple IP addresses on one NIC.

    yes. normaly in this configuration you get an router from your isp thats make the pppoe authetification and routing. the router have on the lan side the first ip (217.140.85.225/255.255.255.224) and the astaro get the next on "wan" interface (217.140.85.226 and the other added at this interface). the astaro can now nat to the internal servers (adress range 192.168.40.0/24).

    but i have no router - i have test it with an normal dsl router (linksys accespoint make pppoe connection and on the lan side the 217.140.85.225 adress, on the astaro "wan" interface the 217.140.85.226 with the other ip's on this device, internaly it use private adress range).

    out the connection works, but in it doesn't work - cause the dsl router make always nat. i see all the time from external the gateway adress (cause the linksys nat with this adress).

    is it possible to use this configuration direct with astaro - without an router?

    i think i need on wan a pppoe connection, on the lan side the first ip from range and on the other "lan" interface the other adresses (e.g. as aliases). so i can nat to the internal servers. is this right?
