Policy based routing and gateway

Hi,

Maybe a 'dumb' question, but when you use policy based routing to reroute spcific traffic and you select the second external interface as the target, how does it know to forward the traffic to the attached router or do I have to specify the router as the target ? Since you cannot specify a second default gateway (the router) the interface doesn't know where to route the packets to ? Or am I wrong ?

The address of the next hop router has to be part of any route specification.

Hi,

ok, so I have to create an host entry for my router and set the target to that one instead of the interface ? Why does the online help say ' The Target can either be one of the firewall's interfaces (entries in double angle brackets) or a next-hop host'.
