Outlook web access sbs2003

Hi,

two ways:

first, the thing I wouldnt do. Nat the needed services to your internal network (eg. the 2003 SBS).

second, the thing I would do. Use VPN to secure the communication between your clients in the open and the internal server.

VPN is not really an option as the very idea was to give the users access when offsite from anywhere.
I was more looking for a step to step guide..

Setup Exchange to do Outlook Web Access.  You will need a certificate generated. (Astaro can do this, or you can do it from Win2k3, or buy a recognised one (ie Thawte)).

When correctly configured, you should only require Port 443 open.  (SSL)

Then when you https://owa.domain.com you will be able to access mail via encrypted web link.

I've set mine so http requests get auto-redirected to the correct https page.

Google and you should be able to find how to setup Exchange.
For Astaro, alls you need to do is NAT 443 to the Exchange box and ensure you have packet filter in place.

You can also use External Outlook 2003 clients, point them to the same address.  However to achieve this you need: XP SP2 + Outlook 2003.

You need t do 443 for ssl 80 for http thats it. Basically what Shaw just stated.
