Nexgate NSA 1030-I

Hello,

I am new here and have a desperate question. I have recently taken a position at a local college in the IT department. There has been some hardware lying areound for some time now. One piece being a Nexgate NSA 1030-I. I have no idea where it comes from o rhow to access  it to configure it. Don't know what IP's assigned to NICs or anything. I know nothing about it. 

So I was wondering if any one has had any experience with this device and what I should do to get into the thing to attempt to configure it for use.

    Hi,

    its the same hardware astaro and timenet are using, not the best on the market but cheap. [:)]

    If you dont have any clue of the device, eg. like ip or password, than the only way is to reinstall the thing. 

    First, its nothing else than a simple office pc in a small rackform. 
    There should be 2 USB connectors on the backside, where you can connect an USB CD-Rom drive, if you have one.
    When you open the box, there should be a plan of the layout inside the machine, that shows you, where you have to connect the PS-2 Adapter cable, and the VGA-Adapter cable (hopefully you still got them).

    After you got those 3 parts connected (keyboard, monitor, cdrom), you can boot the box, to see what is installed on it.  You also schould be able to see the ip adress or the name at the login prompt. 

    Normaly you should also be able to install the box with the latest astaro  cd (ftp.astaro.com). Problem I guess is, that  you dont have the licens key file of the box?
