Configure QoS for VoIP?

I have VoIP configured in the firewall (services, ports opened, NAT, etc). It works fine so far. I am looking to also configure QoS to allow VoIP services as high priority. I'm stuck on configuring QoS on the interface. I read the user manual, it seems vague.

Which interface to I configure QoS on? The outside? Inside? Both? I'm on cable internet, how do I determine my upload and download bandwidth?

I'm running Astaro v5.

Enable QoS on the external interface.
Then set the packetfiler rule for the VoIP to "Allow High". That's all. Note, you can QoS only outgoing traffic. So you have to enable QoS on the external interface.

External interface. Gotcha. How do I figure out the upload and download info for my cable modem connection? Some bandwidth speed test website?

Try the tools section on dslreports.com

Note that the tested bandwidth may be lower than your actual bandwidth due to the test servers being busy.
