Astaro FTP Issue

My company is behind Astaro firewall version 5.026 and we have an FTp server on our internal 10.x.x.x network. the problem is if someone tries to download files from the FTP server from outside the network, the file download connection drops down after downloading for a while. Also we have another ftp server hosted on an outside FTP site and if we try to upload files to that server from our inside network, after downloading for a while it gives an error ' An error occured copying a file to the FTP server. make sure you have permission to put files on the server.

The connection with the server was reset.

 I am not sure where exactly the problem is but the fact, that  the common factor in both the scenarios is the Astaro Firewall, makes me believe that there is something wrong with the way Astaro is handing ftp connections.

i would really appreciate if someone could help.

    Downloading big files or lots of little files?

    Lots of little files can trigger the portscan detection, at least on ASL 3.x

    Maybe try turning off the portscan detection and/or the IPS.

    Hi,
    same problem here, but on 5.200
    With „Log FTP Data Connections“ enabled under „Packer Filter“ -> “Advanced” I can see in the “Packet Filter Live Log” that the data connection is established by the “Connection Tracking Helper” for FTP. After a while this data connection is drop by the Packet Filter.
    Astaro Support told me that they can reproduce this behaviour and it will be eliminated in the next up2date (At this time I run Version 5.103!)
    I hope it will be eliminated in the next up2date!
    Before you open this thread I thought that this problem exists since 5.027 see this thread:

     5.027 Kernel Upgrade...! 

    but it seems to be a mistake.

    Actually our customers have reported that around 6-7MB the connection drops. It happens with big files.

    One more thing I noticed lately - if I use some ftp client from inside our network to upload files to our external server then I don't have any problem but it gives problem with IE browser.
