ASL V5 - Video H323

When using video conference the other site is not able to see us. only the sound gets through. We are able to see and hear them. They do not have a firewall and are using the system direct on a dsl line.

I use 3 services (named: H323 -1/2/3) for the following ports 1720/5555:5560/2326:2365

Created a DNAT rule for all three services: All -> External (Address) / H323-1   External (Address)   VideoConf
(VideoConf is our Tandberg system.) Created a packet filter rule and activated it. Still it doesn't seem to work. Who has experience with video conference & astaro?

    The problem with H323 is that it opens so many damn ports! The guys that developed that protocol were damn telecommuncation idiots not network engineers. They should revamp that whole protocol, or make a better one. 

    Sorry you got me on my soap box. I am sorry to say but I can't help you. But just think of all the ports you are opening though. Do you really want people to be able to exploit those ports? You are better off not using Astaro (you obviously don't need security) and getting a nat router.

    A better choice than opening up all those ports, would be to have the remote site making a VPN connection to your Astaro box, and then running the videoconferencing connections inside the VPN.

    H323 does not work with ASL version 5 yet because H323 needs a connection tracking helper which does not work properly.

    Thanks for all the replies. I'll try to set up a VPN between the remote location and our office for now. In the future I guess i't's best to run the video conference an a seperate line with no Firewall.
