Do you use the HTTP or Socks Proxy to establish the MSN connection? There should be an option "keep alive" in the MSN configuraiton. Switch that on.

in MSN. I am not sure if there is such an option. In ICQ it is. Sorry, I have no expiriene with MSN. But I know a similar issue in ICQ. There the keep alive option fixed the problem.
Maybe somebody else can help you with MSN.

If you use HTTP proxy, in MSN, go to
Tools
-->
Options
-->
Connection
Select the
Advanced Settings
button.
Under the
HTTP Proxy
section, enter the IP address of your proxy and port (and user and password if password protected).
If you want to use SOCKS 5, just enter the info under
SOCKS version 5
instead.
Hope this helps...
