snort version

what version of snort does ASL 5.1 use? The latest is 2.3.0 which is required for the newest rules to be effective and useable.

You can replace the snort_inline binary with the statically compiled binary 2.1.3b if you want. It work just fine. Of course you can kiss your support agreement good-bye.
Or just "roll your own" binary of 2.3
