My external interface will not come up when using DHCP from my ISP (comcast cable). I have been able to get it to work temporarily by doing the following:
1. cloned Astaro's external interface MAC address on my old linkys router, then used DHCP renew from linksys to get an IP from Comcast.
2. entered in IP, subnet mask, and gateway information as static on Astaro's external interface.
3. removed linkys router and plugged Astaro external interface into cable modem.
If i do the same procedure without using the mac address clone I am not able to get out to the internet.
Like i said, it is working fine for now, but i am not sure how exactly comcast has DHCP set up and i am worried that after the lease expires my connection will go bye bye. I don't want to have to do the above procedure every two weeks or so.
Is there a way to do a dhcp release/renew through SSH?
Down'ing and Up'ing the interface hasn't worked for me, neither has rebooting the box.
Any ideas/suggestions?
