Block or throttle?

It's easiest to throttle from within eMule's settings (Preferences-Connection: upload limit/download limit), although I guess if you can't control your users this is a problem.

QOS mainly affects outgoing traffic (uploads).
Setting up proper rules for eMule is tricky as it can use many different ports, but you can catch most of it with these Service Definitions (make a group):

TCP 1024:65535 4662
UDP 1:65535 4672
UDP 1024:65535 4665
TCP 1024:65535 4661

I have the second one at 1:65535 because I've noticed a lot of clients are using ports like 443 to get around ISP's which try filter P2P traffic.

If you want to totally block it, you'd probably need to block all outgoing traffic and force everyone to use the HTTP proxy.

ASL5's IPS feature will kill emule and most other p2ps easily.

I don't want to kill... I just want to throttle the upload in clients. Is posible?

Yes, but the user can set up eMule on any port they want to so manby Astaro cannot catch them?

Well, there is a nice little proggay called NetLimiter which allows you to set bandwidth locally on ur pc on a per application basis.

The eMule client lets you set the incoming and outgoing speeds.

true, but below a certain threshold it loweres ur incoming also.  So if lower it outside of the program u can keep the downloads cranked up.

Technically yes..if you can get all of the uers to not use different ports..and if said users will obey whatver limit you put them on(aka the agree to stay on port 23444 at a certain rate but later change it to port 80 wide open)  I would use ips to block it..but that's just me.
