2 different ISPs 2 gateways?

I have 2 different internet providers. Cable modem (Fast) and a DSL connection which isn't fast. When I had just the DSL I was able to recieve email just fine. It would go through the SMTP Proxy and get forewarded on to my Qmail Linux Box. I switched to Cable modem and I stopped recieving email. So I decided to run both ISPs at the same time. I made the DNS changes. but I'm not recieving emails. 

When I look at the Interfaces, only the Cable interface has a gateway. I can't add the Gateway for the DSL. Why is this? I did some searching and found a post that talks about this, but it is a year and a half old. And it seems that ASL4 could have 2 gateways? I'm running ASL5.1 Should I downgrade?

Here's the setup:
eth0 - Internal 10.0.0.1/24
eth1 - DSL 65.174.107.205/26
eth2 - Cable 12.216.47.64/22

I made a DNAT/SNAT rule to allow ports from both eth1 and eth2 to get forewarded on to my Linux Box.

What am I missing to get this "simple" network to work?

    While your setup appears to be simple, do keep in mind that all of your outbound traffic will use just one of the two broadband interfaces by default. ASL, like mos OSes, works on the basis of a single "Default Gateway" pointer, which will point upstream to the ISPs router on one of your broadband connections. Incoming traffic on the other broadband connection will not get any outgoing replies on the same connections. That might be OK for machines that are out on the public Internet, but likely doesn't work when you try to contact the ISP's mail server, which will expect return packets to originate on the ISP's network.

    For some odd reason email stated working shortly after I posted. But my main question still remains. Why can't I have a second gateway for fail-over purposes? I think on Windows I can have more than one, I just have to give them different metrics. Oh well, I'm just trying to get more out of my blessing of having 2 ISPs.
