Firewall is ping/tracert visible not working

I have setup ASL so that pings and trace routes are not visible i.e dropped, but they do not work.  I can still tracert and ping my firewall from an external source.  I have only noticed this since upgrading to 5.100.

Could this be related to a packet filter rule or intrusion protection setting. or is it just a bug?

    That's a known issue. If you also disable "firewall is traceroute-visible", ping will be blocked (that's the workaround). Of course you have to make sure there is no user defined packet filter rule which allowes a ping.
