backup interface

I have two different connections isp, and one of them I use it of backup when the first connection has problems, but also want to use the connection of backup for the vpn connections, and need to know if is possible that the connection of backup work without problems while the first connection work fine or only i can work with the backup interface when the primary connection is fail.

You can't use backup interface (if the primary did not fail)

The Linux kernel only maintains a single default route pointer in its routing table. All traffic to the outside world will therefore be routed through one interface.

Having a second WAN interface for failover purposes, is not the same as having two WAN interfaces running load balanced to the outside world.
