I turned on the web-cgi section of snort and tols it to drop them. I also had the transparent proxy turned on. I noticed no interruptions. When i turned off hte http proxy i could not get to the ikonboard forums i administer. I then noticed all my packets getting dropped by the IPS(which it should have). This bothers me..so you can use the http proxy to bypass the IPS in certain situations? Is this a bug or by design?
