Number of connections increases absurdly

Hi!

I am running an Astaro 4.25 (thats going to be updgraded to 5 in a couple of days).

I am having this problem:

I install the server freom scratch, everything perfect and everything is configured properly. I am using azureus, a bittorrent client to download things.

My problem is that the number of current connections increases absurdly with time. For example, that astaro is used only by 120 pcs doing telnet and some other 20 pcs using it not that freely, but not entirely closed. I don't know why the number of connections increases to over 3000 connections.if i exchange the external ip of the nic, the connections drop again, but with time they still go again to that amount. It doesnt matter that i stop using the azureus client. the concurrent connections drops in a small number of connections, but nothing more. Are connections getting hanged? do i have to stop using azureus?? what shoul i do?

    What ports are these connections using?
    When you study the connections list, look for patterns and similarities.

    I used to have a problem with a large number of connections in the 1000 to 3000 range. It turned out to be my DNS server on the Internal network using a different port every time it made an outside lookup call. I solved it by pointing my DNS server at the DNS proxy in ASL. My excessive connection problem went away. I haven't had any similar problems since then.

    So check out what you have running on your Internal network that is creating all these connections, and deal with the root of the problem.
