Well, I used H.323 protocol and get a call from a (remote) VoIP appliance set both in static and dynamic mode. And called it back. This was through ASL 4.xx, but I'm sure it makes no difference with 5.xx.
You should provide some detail if you face any problem with VoIP, so people can have a look and try to be of some help.
Ok, sorry for beeing later, but I'm not always on that task... Ok, I just have a SIP telephon and i opened Port 5060 on ASL in the Network, so i get the ring. It seems, that there is a problem to pass the Proxy connection to the SIP-provider through the ASL. As i mentioned I can call out and everything is ok. The way in is just the ring and after that no communication in both way is possible. I've read about port 5000-5013 UDP and some more, but I'm not realy shure that is the right way. I tried but without any result. So i'm still not reachable on IP-Phone ;-((
i have ASL V5 working with my VoIP Cisco SIP Phones and my asterisk VoIP Server.
Can you guys explain your setup in more detail, especially which protocol you are using, how you are connected to the internet and what kind of NAT and packetfilter rules do you have configured.
I have a ASL 4.024 connectes to a DSL-Line (Germany) NAT/MASQ eth0_Network to All Masq any to dsl HTTP,IMAP,POP3,SMTP -> Mailserver Rules any/ HTTP,IMAP,POP3,SMTP -> Mailserver Mailserver/ pop3,SMTP -> any eth0_Network/ some services like ftp, pptp etc) -> any
I have a IP-Telephone which is connected to a SIP-Server at freenet.de SIP-Port 5060 RTP-Port 5004 I can call out and phone in a normal way. If i get a call i receive a ring, but if i pick up the communication is not possible. The same behavior is when i take the Software FreenetiPhone.
So i guess that i need some ports to open into my network to get the communication running. Or to pass the SIP-Server with some special ports. THX for help
