First of all, I'm a guy who mostly reads all the threads in here, therefore my write counter is very low. I'm useing Astaro since Version 4.0 in the early beginning. As network admin in my conpany I have to use some Cisco firewalls but also ISA 2004 in some customer projects.
Now the mean fact of this post..
I've some troubles with Astaro with the connection handling. For example... If you have an external and an internal Network. the internal Netowk has a 100mbit connection and the external only 2mbit.
In the internal LAN are about 500 Users with 40 concurrent counnections from the internal interface of astaro to its external 2mit internet connect. If some users surf and download the internet (or files of them :-) ) the connection is very slow... of course, cause we have only 2mbit.
But... and thats the point... Astaro can't balance between the connections from the user as other systems can do.. also unter linux.
For instance... ISA 2004.. if some users are downloading stuff and the 2mbit connection is on the limit, another users can also surf... a little bit slower, but quite a good reaction. Astaro is a few times slower. If the internet connection is 100% used, ataro takes a long time to respond... as astaro needs some time to send the packets out.
Now to the answer...
Is it possible that astaro have a too large cache? Like the txp windows size or something like that? Cause the response is too slow if the connection is 100% used.
I hope I could write down the problem that people understand what I mean..
