IPS Chat rules not working when also using SOCKS?

Is it just me, or do the CHAT Traffic rules not detect anything if the users use the SOCKS proxy?

I have ICQ, MSN, and Yahoo IM connections through SOCKS, and there are 0 hits on all the CHAT rules.
