To allow an inbound netmeeting session (highly recommended to avoid that, if possible!) it is necessary to open several ports.
I name some of them (accordingly to a Microsoft document http://www.microsoft.com/windows/NetMeeting/Corp/reskit/Chapter4/default.asp):
389 Internet Locator Service (ILS) TCP
522 User Location Service TCP
1503 T.120 TCP
1720 H.323 call setup TCP
1731 Audio call control TCP
Moreover, for audio and video streaming, all ports above 1024 should be randomly open too!
Let us assume that H.323 is not in my specs so I can limit my incoming ports to the ones mentioned ahead (eventually 1002 instead of 389 for Win2K systems).
I set the source ports to the numbers listed (TCP protocol). What about the D-ports? Should they have the same port number or the default one (1-65535)?
I am sometimes confused when I need to set the incoming connection and the related destination ports. I'd like to open the minimum required, but have little experience about the optimal settings. Any idea?
Thanks in advance
