problems setting up rules

hi out there!

i´m having serious trouble getting my asl to work proper.
when i define a paket filter roule NOT to allow http from internal network, i can still surf the net... does asl need some time to renew the rules or is my way just the wrong one?

second q:
isn´t it possbile to surf the net without the http-proxy? when i disable it, nothing work anymore...

i know, n00b-q´s, but everybody was a beginner somewhen...

    The rules work independent of the proxy.
    So if the proxy is enabled, rules will not affect your browsing capabilities; if you disable the proxy, then the only way browsing will work is to open http, https, have a masquerade rule defined for the LAN (if you are using 'fake' IP addresses behind Astaro), and make sure your gateway is set to Astaro. Also DNS: use the DNS proxy or open ports for it...
