System requirements for gigE lan

i have dsl coming in, and a gigE lan with a box in a DMZ.  How much horsepower would I need for the f/w to be able to transfer files to/from the DMZ through the f/w without the f/w being the bottleneck?  I know what astaro's min specs are, but I am looking for people who have done the tried and true method: experimenting.

    resarch has shown for a minimal server system you need at least a 1 ghz box to move gig-e data.  So if you are transferring through the firewall i would reccomend at least 1.5 ghz or faster..also you have to have gig-e nics forthe data to traverse through..also the gige nics should be on either 66mhz pci slots or pci-x slots as standard 33mhz pci slots do not have the bandwidthh to move that kind of data.
