Have had ASL installed for a few months and despite anonymously browsing/searching this forum since then I can't work out what I'm doing wrong! If anyone can point me in the right direction I'd be grateful!
Situation:
ASL 5..015
2 NICs
Web server with all latest patches running on internal network (don't have enough kit/cash to host it on a DMZ'd machine!)
Website is fully available from internal network but only SOME people can access it from outside. I, for instance, can access fine from my PC at work, whereas other people I know (not on same network as me) just get time-outs when they try to access.
I'm assuming my packet-filters/NAT-ing must be set up correctly or no-one at all would be able to access (or am I wrong in that assumption?). I can see the visitor's packets being merrily dropped in the log but can't work out why. There doesn't seem to be any common factor amongst the users who cannot access (other than the fact that most (but not all) are attempting to access from behind a proxy - should that be a problem?). I'm really stuck on what to check/do next to allow access to the site. Any help gratefully received...
