trying to get nat 2 work

I have cable access at home... I'm trying to setup astro nat... I really don't have  a clue what I'm doing... I'm useing ver 5.... I can ping my dns server but I can't ping www.yahoo.com

does anyone have a clue what I'm doing worng :-)

    Did you setup masquerading from internal LAN to Internet ?
    Did you follow the Initial_Setup document (see docs.astaro.org) ?

    To my it sounds like you have NAT setup correctly if the DNS server is outside your filewall, but you are having issues with DNS resolution.  

    A few various options to check out are as follows.
    1) IP Address allocation.  Are you using the DHCP Server from Astaro?  If so do you have your Cable providers DNS address given out to clients?  If you have a statis address, does your client have the proper DNS server.

    2)  Packet Filtering.  Typically I setup a rule to allow anything from the Internal network to have allow access to any service at any location.  For home use it allows any tcp / udp request to get out (games, messengers, etc) without opening holes to get into past the firewall from the outside.

    Check those out first and can go from there.
