I have a cayman router .. it was sent to us by sbcglobal.net .. our dsl provider
the wan side of this box is configured 63.203.8.56/255.255.255.252 Ip 63.203.8.58 default gateway is 63.203.8.57
the lan side is 67.125.51.128/255.255.255.224 ip is 67.125.51.129
so all my windows and linux dns servers can go through this 67.125.51.129 gateway NAT is turned off inside the cayman or my DNS servers won't work
I then have a smc broadband router to handle the windows computers configured 192.168.0.1/24 so default gateway for the windows computers is 192.168.0.1 the wan side of this smc box is 67.125.51.134/255.255.255.224 default gateway is 67.125.51.129 ....
But I tried to setup one of the linux with 2 network cards to be the router
I can get the windows to ping all the linux computers on the wan 67XXXX side the linux but none of the windows can ping the 67.125.51.129
so I got this astaro ... I set it up like the linux ... same thing happens ... the astaro llnux can ping the 67.125.51.129 default gateway of the cayman box but none of the windows can ping it but
the windows 192XX on the lan side network card of the astaro can ping the 67XXX numbers of the dns servers on the wan side network card in the astaro ... but can't ping the default gateway of the cayman ... 67.125.51.129 ... I can 't get any of the windows XP 's to go through any of the 2 network card linux's including the astaro and get on the internet ... none of them can ping the default gateway.... I don't know what is wrong ... the broadband smc router will go through the gateway but none of lan side of the linux box's inclulding the astaro can go through
I'm almost defeated ... what do I do
