Multiple DHCP provided Adr for One W-Lan Interface

Cablecom offers me 4 dynamic Ip-Addresses. Between the router and the ASL I plan to have a Wireless connection. How can I configure my WLan Interface to request more then on IP Address from the DHCP Pool? I changed the File /etc/itfdesc.conf to make the config possible. I guess I also have to fake the MAC Address in order to make my NIC visible on the MAC Layer. Has anyone already done this? Is there another way to handle my scenario? I want to use dyndns on each interface later. therefore I'm going this way ...

    If you use a Wi-Fi router as your access point, it has its own DHCP server built in, and your problem is solved. I use an inexpensive  SMC7004VWBR router. It can do DynDNS on the WAN side, and has a DHCP server for the LAN and Wi-Fi connections.

    Do you mean that configuration? The product you mentioned, is it able to obtain more the one IP Address on the WAN Side and forward all traffic  (as it is) to the respective ASL interface that is using static Private IPs on the External side? The products I already saw, could only handle one IP Address on the WAN Side.

    I use a much easier setup than that. I have the WAN port of my SMC Wi-Fi router connected to the DMZ network sourced by my ASL v4 firewall. I have no need for the aliased IP addresses, and I use PPTP VPNs over the wireless network back to my Internal network.

    I like to keep it simple. 

    To answer your question; no, my cheap SMC SOHO router will use a single WAN address, and run a single DynDNS client. It doesn't need to be able to do anything more than that.

    Thanks anyway! But that is exactly what I want: Take advantage of multiple DHCP Addresses provided by my Cable Modem and Nat them to my ASL. Now I consider installing a physical cable from the cable modem to a Hub next to the ASL. From there I'll use multiple cables (for each IP) ending in a multiport Ethernet Interface. But is that the only way? --raffi

    The biggest advantage of having multiple public IP addresses, is that you can then have multiple public servers presented to the outside world. With 5 IP addresses, you can have 5 web servers, each using port 80 on its own IP address, as an example.

    Personally, I only have two web servers to present externally, a regular web server and a webmail server. Since I use a single external IP address, I have set up a SNAT rule that remaps the webmail server to port 88 on the external interface.

    Your idea of connecting a small hub (or switch) to your broadband modem, is the way to go, if you are going to use all five of your ISP allocated IP addresses. Then you can connect multiple machines directly to the outside world as required.

    Just keep in mind that having 5 external IP addresses available to you, and actually needing 5 external IP addresses in order to get your setup to work, are two completely different things. On my own home network, which consist of 17 machines, I have yet to figure out a need for a second external IP address.  

    That could change, once I get my hands on some really low power machines. My biggest problem is that all of the PCs that I leave on 24x7 as part of my back end infrastructure, show up on my electrical utility bill. For a private home network, that can represent a significant operational expense.
