Logical location with ADSL

I want to setup a test environment with Astaro on a ADSL connection. On WAN side of the ADSL router I have a fixed IP address from the provider. On LAN side I use a local IP address.

Do I have to place the Astaro on the LAN side of the ADSL router? And can I create a private segment between the LAN side of the ADSL router and the "WAN" side of the Astaro?

Hi MarcoL,

I believe your ADSL-Router is working as a Bridge.

But, read the Instructions from your ISP, or ask them how your internal Computer should be configured.
It could be also that your ADSL-Router will provide an "Internal" Net to the LAN.

Why do you want to use a dsl router and the ASL in combinition? Do you mean ADSL-Router or Modem ?
