ASL as a "normal" DSL Router without proxy !

Hi together,

i have read the manual "docs.astaro.org/.../Guidebook-DE-ASL-V4_T-DSL.pdf"

but in this manual ASL is useing as a proxy server.
but in my constelation i cant use the ASL proxy so i want to route my network as default to the dsl with an Default Gateway.

i tried allready to add a route "Network->Routing"
from Priate_Netzwork ...... to Host DSL Interface"

my clients can resolve the hostename in the web, but didn't get any response.
DNS works

have you setup filter-rules and masqerading for your clients ?

Hi,

I setup masqerading
Internal Network -> ALL / ALL -> SRC: MASQ_DSL ->DST: none

i've setup no packet filters

You have to define packet filter rules for all traffic you want to allow access. Then ensure, that your clients can resolve the names. The easiest way, is to set up the DNS-Proxy. The clients only need to have the IP of your ASL to resolve the hostnames.
If you cannot use the proxy and the clients do name resolution themselves, you have to define a packet filter for DNS.

for the first test i want to alllow all traffic outgoning from my network ....
so i have to setup packet filter ? which one ?

You need to:
1. MASQ your internal network to your External INTERFACE.
2. Create a packet filter rule...
Source: Internal Network
Service: Any
Destination: Any
Action: Allow

This should get it.

With this setting my ASL will route all traffic on all ports to the internet.
If i want do deny some services or ports i crate a new packet filter rule.
