You need to forward the port 3389 (for remote desktop) to the IP of your desktop at home.

First create a service called Remote_Desktop, from any tcp port to tcp 3389.

Then goto Network>NAT/Masquerading

Select rule type DNAT/SNAT and set source address to Any, Destination address as the external_interface and service as remote_desktop.

Then leave the change source, and set the change destination to the IP of your home desktop. (you may have to define your desktop in the definitions>networks bit)

Make sure the packet filter is also set to allow connections from any to your desktop for the remote_desktop service as well.  

i am going nuts, i can not get a hole trough.  complete setup is:  

Defenitions > Networks XP master ( home Machine 192.168.2.110  sub. 255.255.255.255

Defenitions > Services
Remotedesktop TCP       3389         3389

Network > Nat/masp

Remotedesktopmasq   Ruletype DNAT/SNAT
Source > Any   Destination > ADSL Interface  
 Service > remotedesktop 
Change source to  > NO CHANGE
Change destination to > XP Master
Service destination > NO CHANGE


Packets Filter > rules

From > Any 
To     > Any
Service > Remotedesktop
Action > Allow

What is wrong, have i made it wrong. ?????

1. Did you set up a MASQ or SNAT rule for XP Master?
- choose either
2. Inbound Packet filter rule
- To: XP Master
3. Outbound Packet filter rule
- do you allow XP master to respond?

What I meant was:
1. You supply no information wether you SNAT or MASQ XP Master or the complete internal network. Do you SNAT or MASQ?

2. I would change the To: part in the inbound filter rule
To: XP Master instead of Any

3. You say nothing about how you have set up the outbound filter rules. Is XP Master allowed to respond?

You should be able to set up the DNAT/SNAT or MASQ based on the example in this thread:  Port forwarding

Are my other settings okay, could you tell me a complete setup that works.  

goto docs.astaro.org/guidebooks and check the HTTP server DNAT howto - it explains exactly what you wanna do except the desination port is a different one. Use instead of 80/HTTP 3389/xpremote.

Now i think i see the logic in all of this, if this i right i will go wild!!!

I can test from work tomorrow, but correct me if i am wrong.

I have added an aditional ip adress om my internal interface

INTERFACES:

ADSL (Standard ethernet interface) on eth1 

Internal on eth0   192.168.2.100 / 255.255.255.0
Gateway: none 

RemoteXP  on eth0   192.168.2.110 / 255.255.255.0
Gateway: none 

DNAT/SNAT:

Source : Any
Destination : RemoteXP_Interface
Service : Remotedesktop

Change source to: No change
Change destination to : XP_Master
Service : Remotedesktop:3389

Packets Filter :

Any         Remotedesktop      Any              Allow

I would define remote desktop as source: 1024-65535 Destination: 3389

Isn't the RDP session encrypted anyway?
