dmz and masq

hoi,

i own a couple of public ips. the first/main  ip of the public interface got a dns record.

masquerading the dmz to wan, it will use the first official ip with dns entry on the wan interface.

but i want to masq the dmz to an ip alias on the wan interface with no dns entry.

is this possible?

thanks,

seb

  • seb-zrh,

afaik only the basic IP is used for masquerading (no aldditional addresses) so I would configure it the other way arround - assign the DNS resolvable IP as alias to the NIC.
