Magnia Mania

I have inherited a magnia SG20, I have ASL 4.008 running on it ( via  brain transplant and install on laptop ) - I can talk to the management interface, BUT ( and you knew there would be one ) it is only seeing the intel pro 100 card so it is being assigned to the internal address and it should be used as the external address....

It doesn't see any other NIC's - even though there is one.

My question is, is this because there was only 1 NIC on my "donor" machine that was the same type and it's only loading modules for that, or is the other NIC ( tied to the built in switch ) need a special driver ......... which I may be able to steal off of the RH 7.0 that was running on the magnia.....

Any ideas ?

IT'S ALMOST WORKING and I figure other people would like to pick them up on EBAY for $200 US .... mine was purchased a year or so ago and never used........ so I thought I would try it out....

    ..the "WAN"- NIC should be an Intel 82550 and was under W2K detected as "Intel Pro/100 S Server Adapter"...

    Two month ago Oliver Desch (Astaro) told me that it should work...... maybe I'm gonna try this next weekend. [;)]

    Well, so far it's not going too well....

    I changed the /etc/modules to inlcude an alias to eth1 for 8139too, which loads fine, and shows up as an available interface.

    I can add it as an interface, but cannot enable it, I go through the steps, but it doesn't enable.

    I tried enabling it for the management interface, but I lost all network communication and has to re-install from scratch.....

    Any suggestions shot of trying to install ASL on this box via CD with a keyboard and no display...... which I can do since I wrote down the steps required...... assuming the install will run without video hardware.

    Any suggestions ?

    Hi there.   Did you get your Astaro install working on your SG20 yet?  I'm having the same problem as you.
